Isaiah Kosgei

Isaiah Kipkemei Kosgei hails from Eldoret, Kenya, which is the world mecca for middle- and long-distance runners with altitudes ranging from 8,000 to 9,500 feet.

As of 2024, Isaiah is a 50-year (as of 2024) non-professional Kenyan runner who uses running to change the lives of disadvantaged Kenyans.  Isaiah is the father of three boys and loving husband to his wife, Betty. Helping others is in Isaiahโ€™s DNA. His commitment to serving others is second to none. In his Kenyan community, Isaiah is often referred to as a โ€œOne Man Charityโ€.  Throughout his life, he has run in many marathons around the globe (US, France, Germany, Netherlands, Scotland, Tanzania and China).  His personal marathon best times in marathons are listed below:

Mr. Kosgeiโ€™s educational history however, is one of its kind. A true and living example of determination. He attended his basic primary education and successfully completed in 1991. He was to transition to Secondary school, but this never came to be due to lack of school fees. He however opted to join a village polytechnic in 1992- 1993, here, he discovered his talent in athletics and furthered it. It was until 2012, (20 years later) that he joined Secondary school. He completed in 2016 where he managed to secure a scholarship in Aberdeen Running and Movement College in Scotland.

In 2023, Isaiah placed third in the 2023 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC out 20,000 plus runners.  In 2024, Isaiah will run the 50th Anniversary of the Berlin Marathon and the New York City Marathon in November.
